What Caldo de res means
Caldo de res is a Mexican soup or stew name of Spanish origin meaning "beef broth". It is built from Spanish caldo (broth) and de res (of beef cattle). It is pronounced KAL-doh deh RES, and it is most associated with northern Mexico.
