What Puchero means
Puchero is a Mexican soup or stew name of Spanish origin meaning "cooking pot". It comes from Spanish puchero (earthenware pot). It is pronounced poo-CHEH-roh, and it is most associated with Yucatán.
Named after the vessel, like many stews. The Yucatecan puchero de tres carnes puts three meats in the one pot.
